As we all know by now, liquid lipsticks have taken the makeup world by storm. Drugstore brands have been hopping on board lately, so when I saw NYX took a crack at it with these Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks, I had to get my hands on a few. The official release date was July 22, so as always, I am a tad late to the party but I figured I'd share my thoughts all the same. There are 12 shades in the line for $7 each, so the price point is already getting an A++ from me. Compared to other liquid lipsticks that can range from $15-25 a piece, these are a less than HALF the price. I bought mine at Ulta where a good amount of the shades were out of stock, so from what was available, I purchased Orange County (a bright true orange), Kitten Heels (a true vibrant red), and Life's A beach (a bright coral).

The first color I tried was Life's A Beach, and MAN, is that a bright coral shade when you put it on your face- but in the best way. The applicator is flat and rectangular, which makes for easy application. There is a pretty good initial color payoff when you swipe it on, but I found if I put on two layers, the color became very opaque. I've found with some liquid lipsticks (I'm looking at you, Colourpop) the formula doesn't really allow you to put on a second layer because they set too quickly and crumble if you try to put additional product on top- not the case with these. They take about a full minute to really set, which I like, because you're able to go over certain areas and manipulate the color without having to rush or worry about getting it perfectly even with one stroke. Once dried, the color is completely matte. The lipstick does remain a little sticky on the lips after drying down, but this does not effect the longevity of the color. These are not completely transfer proof, though. I have to regularly check my teeth to see if any has flaked off inside my mouth and there will probably be a little smudge on your chin if you are eating with these on, but I find a lot of liquid lipsticks to be the same way and it doesn't bother me enough to not wear them. All in all, I find these to be not only affordable, but easy to apply, long-wearing, and long-lasting with great color payoff.

IN CONCLUSION, I GIVE 4 OUT OF 5 STARS TO NYX LIQUID SUEDE CREAM LIPSTICKS.
